Mt. Hay

We've had the pleasure of Jo's Mum, Marg staying with us the last few days and for the rest of the week.

On Monday we took her out to Mt. Hay and went fossicking for Thunder Eggs. For those who don't know, Thunder Eggs are small volcanic rocks, that after cooling, are filled with crystals deposited from water flowing through the cracks. These rosk can then be cut in half and the pattern of the crystal inside them is revealed. We managed to find a few nice specimens, and it was fun banging around in the rocks looking for them.

We also went up to Mt. Archer to have a look at the spectacular views of Rocky, as well as Yeppoon, and also to check out the flashy houses on top of the mountain, including the Barrel House!
