I stumble across the ABC's My Favorite Film list, which outlines the top 100 movies, voted by random people and fanboy/girls on the net I'm guessing. In honour of this list, I present the top 10 most overrated movies of all time.

Note: all 10 of these movies appear on the top 100 list, and in fairness, I've not included movies I haven't actually seen.

1. Donnie Darko I'm yet to meet a stuck up pretentious young adult who doesn't say this movie is great. Well screw you all, I thought it was lame. (Number 5 on the list!)
   
2. Singing in the Rain I didn't know old people could use the internet well enough to vote, so I'm presuming there's plenty of young idiots out there..... (Number 25)
3. The Blues Brothers Ah, American comedy at it's lamest and most predictable (number 27)
4. Moulin Rouge I won't say anything too harsh since Jo loves this movie, but as a general rule, actors should stick to acting and not singing. (Number 31)
   
5. The Rocky Horror Pictureshow Reminds me of the days of when every Rover activity was a cross-dressing theme. It's as gay as Rammstein! (Number 41)
6. Stricty Ballroom Baz Luhrman makes his second appearance in this list, and therefore his second crime against humanity. (Number 56)
7. Dirty Dancing Nothing makes me hunger more for suicide than a screening of Dirty Dancing. (Number 70)
8. When Harry Met Sally Do people still find that orgasm scene funny after they've seen it 1000 times? (Number 75)
9. Stand By Me Stephen Kings crappiest story made into a crappy movie. See The Running Man instead (Number 93)
10. Mulholland Drive Anyone who pretends to understand this film, is either a liar or David Lynch (Number 95)

So there you have it, so many more could have made the list, but since I can't be bothered watching shit like Amelie and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, they didn't. Enjoy and feel free to ad your nominations for most overrated.
