Most of you regular readers probably realise by now, that every morning while having breakfast, bludging around, etc. I watch Sunrise. This morning I had the 'pleasure' of watching Ill Divo performing live in the studio.

I'm not a opera fan, though I certainly appreciated the skill and talent of most opera singers that we see on mainstream TV, these guys to put it blunty, sucked. Their recorded stuff seems to be fine, and really, there's not much that can't be achieved in the recording studio these days. But live, their voices and pitch clashed like pro-lifers and pregnant teenagers at the abortion clinic.

The worst thing was, all of the host thought they were wonderful. Are they tone deaf? Has Sony put up the money for all the good compliments? That's probably it, but sadly for a show that presumes to be honest to it's viewers, the idea that they're 'on the take' is a little disturbing. But then again, it is television after all.

Is Sunrise one three hour long advertisement, interspersed by the occasional newsbreak, and sessions of more ads? Surely not.....
