There were funny sounds in the roof last night. It almost sounded like there was someone up there. The cat was certainly aware that something was going on up there. Almost sounded like someone was screwing something into the roof above our bed? Big Brother? Peeping Tom? Who knows?
This did prompt me to have some interesting thoughts in the shower this morning though, regarding freedom, privacy and certain rights and responsibilites related to these concepts.
Privacy seems to be a pretty outdated concept these days With all the security, scanning, microchipping, and other stuff that we don't know about, our levels of privacy are almost zero compared to days gone by. I actually don't see this as an overwhelmingly bad thing, I mean there are certain advantages to a loss of privacy. We have safer streets, more convenient product placement, and so on.
Now some people would complain about this, that their own private moments could be used against them, or that information collected about them could reveal things they don't want others to know, or even things like political views being used to incriminate them.
I'd like to propose that the real reason for all of this surveillance is not for political or commercial, but simply voyuerism. We've all seen shows like Big Brother and Survivor. I'd say there are not many people who could resist having a peek over the fence at their neighours yard. All of the infrastucture created over the years, the cameras, the barcode scanners, the spy satellites, all to create on voyuer friendly world. Soon we will all have access........

This guy is an idiot. Privacy is our RIGHT. Last time I checked, we don't live in nazi germany. Maybe YOU do, but I don't. I value my freedom to do and say as I please. Watch: FUCK YOU. That's my right. If I decide to say that, I can. If I decide to delete that, then that's my choice, too. If I don't want anyone to know that I wrote that, then deleted it, then that's my motherfucking constitutional RIGHT.

Thanks for the reply Mr. Anonymous. It would seem to me that you're confused? In your post you call me an idiot, which is a fair enough assumption, but you also seem to ramble on about your rights, and in particular, as I could see from you post, you right to freedom of speech.
Unfortunately, since my article was about privacy, I failed to see the connection.
Anyway stay tuned, because I'll be addressing you right to free speech shortly.....
